“Come Read a Play” continues in St. Clair and Port Huron

Come Read a Play logo

Our play reading get-togethers will be continuing for at least a few more weeks. These are informal reads of several plays we’re considering for possible production with The Borderline Theatre Group or the St. Clair Theatre Guild (or both!) in 2019-20.

Any interested actor or theatre artist is welcome to come hang out with us and read a scene or two or the whole play, or just listen and give us your thoughts.

Starting time is 6:30 p.m. The Borderline is hosting on alternate weeks in Port Huron at The Brass Rail, 410 Huron Ave. Buy your own beverages, sit back and have some fun! The Guild hosts the readings on the other weeks at our building, located in Klecha Little League Park at Goffe and Palmer Streets in the south end of St. Clair.

Hope to see you there. Here’s the schedule of upcoming dates and plays to be read:

Wednesday, April 17: “Guest Artist” by Jeff Daniels (The Brass Rail in Port Huron)

Wednesday, April 24: “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” by Finn/Sheinkin/Feldman/Reiss [musical] (SCTG Building in St. Clair) [rescheduled from March 13]

Annual Christmas Caroling on Monday, Dec. 17

Each year, members of the St. Clair Theatre Guild head out to share the holiday spirit with some special members of our community. This year’s Christmas Caroling will Monday, December 17, and everyone – current, former, and prospective guild members and friends – is invited!

We’ll start at MediLodge (located behind Ascension River District Hospital on M-29 in East China) at 6:15 p.m. Those who’ve caroled with us before will note that time is 15 minutes earlier than in the past. We’ll move on to Mallard’s Landing around 7:30 p.m. Kim LaDuke will be accompanying us once again.

After the caroling visits, an afterglow will take place. Details will be available to those who attend at either or both locations.

Caroling is a fun evening and gives us a chance to entertain our senior friends and family. Come out and be part of the holiday spirit! Hope to see you there.
