21 November 2017 ~ Comments Off on Santa Parade was great fun!

Santa Parade was great fun!

The Guild would like to thank our members and friends who helped to make this year’s Santa Parade Float, “S. Claus Toy Co.” We received help from several folks: Ray and Dorothy Govaere (truck and trailer), Fred Dunlap (sound), Bob Swain (refreshments). The float construction crew included Pat Simons, Mike Slamka, Holly Cross, and a surprise guest, Judy Avison. Kim LaDuke and Brian Moss cooperatively spearheaded the project.

We did not win a prize, but had a great time singing for and handing out gifts to the attendees, which brings us to our Elves: Holly Cross, Pat Simons, Kat Huffmaster, Heather Wilkins, Joanne Smith and Joan Hortman.

This year’s parade was the largest so far and the weather cooperated. Thanks to all and apologies to anyone we missed.

Christmas Parade seeks elves

The St. Clair Theatre Guild’s float in the annual St. Clair Christmas Parade needs a couple of elves to walk along with the float. If you’re feeling particularly elfy and would like to participate, let us know through the Contact form. (We’ll take more than two elves, too! Might even accept a reindeer! Let us know!)

23 May 2017 ~ Comments Off on “Celebrating 50 Years of Broadway” – June 22-24, 2017

“Celebrating 50 Years of Broadway” – June 22-24, 2017

The St. Clair Theatre Guild will offer a musical tribute to its history on June 22, 23 and 24, as they present “Celebrating 50 Years of Broadway” at the East China Performing Arts Center. Showtime each evening will be 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15.00 for adults, $12.00 for students and seniors, and are available at the St. Clair Art Association and Sue’s Coffee House in St. Clair; and at 2Thirty5 in Marine City. Tickets will also be available at the door, or you can reserve them at will call by clicking this link and filling out the request form.

This musical revue will take audiences back to many of the great Broadway musicals the Guild has presented since 1967, when they produced their first show, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying! Since then, hundreds of actors, singers, dancers and stage crew have come together to share their love of live theatre with each other and with the community.

The East China Performing Arts Center is located at 1585 Meisner Rd. in East China Township.

We hope you’ll join us on June 22-24 as we celebrate our history and look to the future!
