Applications for the 2019 John and Avis Cobb Memorial Fine Arts Scholarship are now being accepted. One or more scholarships are given each year to persons who will be pursuing arts-related education or training.
To qualify, you must be a current student in the East China School District or at Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School, or be a home schooled student within the East China Schools boundaries. You may also be a graduate of Marine City, St. Clair, or Cardinal Mooney high schools, or an adult living in the school district. Alternatively, Guild members who are residents of other school districts in the area are also eligible.
Applications are available on the Cobb Scholarships page. Deadline for applications is April 15, 2019.
At the organizational board meeting on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, the board elected the following members as officers for the upcoming year: Tom Kephart, president; Brian Moss, vice president; Melanie Freeman, secretary; Kim LaDuke, treasurer.
The board also took care of routine business, reviewed upcoming events, and discussed future plans.
The next meeting of the board will be Tuesday, November 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Guild Building. All members are welcome.
The next meeting of the board of directors of the Guild will be Tuesday, January 8, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Guild building. Meetings are open to all interested members of the Guild.
The Annual Membership Meeting of the St. Clair Theatre Guild was held on Sunday, September 16, 2018. A change to the by-laws was approved and an election for the board of directors was held.
The following by-laws change approved by the members attending the meeting:

a. Power, Number and Eligibility – There shall be no more than sixteen and no fewer than eight members of the Board of Directors, which include the officers of the Guild. The exact number of directors shall be determined by the membership at the Annual Meeting. Directors must have been an active member for the Guild for one year or more.

Four board members’ terms were expiring, and all four were willing to be considered for re-election to another two-year term. Additionally, three new or returning members were nominated from the floor. The seven candidates were elected by acclimation of the assembled membership. All seven will serve through the 2020 annual meeting. They are:

- Stacey Jowett (nominated from the floor)
- Tom Kephart (nominated from the floor)
- Owen McIntyre (nominated from the floor)
